Every Friday, I like to feature a different artist and their work. Sometimes you’ll even see my own artwork featured. It’s a nice way to get to know different artists, their creative process, and the story behind some of their works of art.
It’s Friday Art Crawl!
This week’s artist is Jenn Antonio of Creative Boundless. She is an artist and entertainer from Manitoba, Canada. She finds ways to mix creativity and entertainment together with face painting and magic.
Jenn also loves expressing her creativity by creating portraits using a variety of mediums like acrylic, Prisma colored pencils.
“I have this weird addiction of observing faces and I always have the need to paint people. Even if I’m not painting people, I'm painting them in my head.”
This is one of Jenn’s recent commissions. She has been painting ever since she was a young girl but for the past four years, she has been really been focusing on her skills. She’s been reading and practicing different techniques that she’d been having trouble with.
“In the past, I had trouble capturing light; even though I still need more work, I'm getting there. I was always afraid painting highlights but I realized the trick is not looking at the lines of the picture but focusing on the colours of the light.”
Jenn’s portraits are gorgeous, charming, and capture the subjects beautifully. If you’re looking for a gift for a birthday, anniversary, or just because, a portrait makes a great gift!
In addition to painting portraits, Jenn offers entertainment services like magic shows, balloon twisting, and face painting. How fun is that?!
Make sure you stay tuned for next week’s Friday Art Crawl and check out last week’s feature: Deanna Kei!
Have a great weekend!
